Mandatory cup takeback
DEFRA has announced that it will soon become mandatory for any company that sells fibre-based composite cups, and employs 10 or more full time equivalent employees, to provide a dedicated bin for the separate collection and recycling of cups. This will also be accompanied by a data reporting requirement.
In addition, consumers are becoming more environmentally conscious, favouring businesses that are moving towards sustainable change.
To help you easily comply with the new legislation, take away the data burden and provide a consumer facing solution, we have designed a new Cup Takeback Scheme.
The Cup Takeback Scheme has two levels of membership, one for businesses that are obligated under the new legislation, and another for those outside of the obligation that still want to provide a cup recycling solution to their customers.
